Avril Banstead has been the editor of Feminine Magazine for many years. She now covets and is in the running for a new glossier publication. Taking advantage of the popularity of make-overs, she arranges for three of her readers to be given a reincarnation for one of the television programmes. This is to take place at Avril's home and the three 'volunteers' - a teenager, a dowdy housewife and a graceless granny . . .
